Frozen Foot Race II report
On a day that brought unseasonably warm temperatures in the low 50s and just a bit of rain, more than 320 people lined up for the 2016 Frozen Foot Race II Sunday at Elizabethtown College. It made for a good racing day in south central Pennsylvania as Fred Joslyn, 31, of Mount Holly Springs won the event in 15:09. That time was consistent with his time from January, when he finished 7 seconds behind winner Steven Schelander, 25, of Shippensburg. Schelander didn’t run this month’s FF race.
On the women’s side, Emily Giannotti, 23, of Ephrata continued her dominance of the field, winning in 16:59. That was a 17-second improvement over the January race, and she finished 1.5 minutes to 2 minutes ahead of the second place finisher in each race.
Overall, it was a good day for runners of all ages and paces. Check out the overall results here.
